Donor FAQs

What is Match Day?

Match Day is a new online giving event sponsored by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, with support from the Brewers Community Foundation and many other funders, which seeks to raise awareness and support for food and shelter programs in the greater Milwaukee area. View the list of organizations participating in Match Day »

When will it take place?

March 8 from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

How do I make a donation?

Search for the charity you wish to support, then click the “Donate Now” button and enter the appropriate donation information. You may also support the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Basic Needs Fund and the money will be distributed accordingly to the participating organizations. Donations are tax deductible and irrevocable (donations will not be refunded).

In addition to helping those in need, you can also be entered into a drawing to win a prize. See Rules and Prizes for more information about the special prizes donated by the Milwaukee Brewers and Time Warner Cable.

What methods of payments can I use?

Only donations made online with a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or American Express) or debit card on March 8 between 5 a.m. and 11 p.m. will be accepted.

How will my gift be matched?

All gifts will be matched proportionately, based on the total amount of money raised by each organization during Match Day. For example, if the total amount raised by the community is $500,000, and an organization raises 10 percent of that total, or $50,000, then the organization will receive 10 percent of the total match pool.

How will my gift be acknowledged?

All donations made via MatchDayMKE.org go to the Razoo Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization that permits donors to advise a regranting of their donations to other IRS recognized qualifying organizations. A fee of 2.9 percent of the donation will be deducted to cover the cost of processing the donation. The Razoo Foundation will issue an e-mail acknowledgement and tax receipt the same day the contribution is received. Please note, The Razoo Foundation or RazooDonations.org will appear as the vendor on the credit card statement.

When will participating nonprofits receive my gift?

By April 10

Will my gift be private?

Razoo Foundation requests authorization from donors that their name, e-mail, mailing address and donation amount may be shared with the agency they chose to support. The Greater Milwaukee Foundation will have access to the donor’s name and email address to allow for prize distribution. The agency and the Foundation receive this information unless the donor has requested to remain anonymous.

What are the minimum and maximum amounts?

The minimum donation is $10. There is no maximum donation.

Thank You
